Specs come from each maker’s sheet for the exact model number we link: Acer, MSI and Lenovo PSREF. Verdicts come from Tom’s Hardware, and RTX 5060 laptop benchmarks come from Notebookcheck’s Lenovo LOQ 15 review. That’s a different configuration from the three here, so treat its numbers as a ballpark. We don’t run our own lab tests. Each store link goes to that same model number. Other configurations can share the name and differ inside.
1. GPU watts. Laptop makers set the RTX 5060’s power limit. Lenovo lists 65W on the LOQ Essential and Acer lists up to 85W. More watts usually means more frames. Check the spec sheet, not the box.
2. RAM channels. Two sticks beat one. The MSI ships as 2×8GB. The Lenovo ships one 16GB stick, so add a matching one.
3. The screen. 144Hz is the floor. The MSI’s 2560×1600 at 240Hz looks great, but an RTX 5060 will lean on DLSS to fill it in new games.
4. Upgrade room. A free RAM slot and a second M.2 slot let a cheap laptop grow. Lenovo lists both for the LOQ Essential.
5. Read the model number. Best Buy’s listing calls the LOQ Essential’s screen “2K.” Lenovo’s sheet for 83SC007RUS says 1920×1080. Trust the maker.
Check the slot size before you buy a drive. The Lenovo’s M.2 slots are the short 2242 type (Lenovo PSREF), so the full-length 2280 drives in our NVMe SSD guide won’t fit it. Tom’s Hardware says the Acer has room for a second drive.
