Methodology & Source Attribution: 1440p Ultra raster and ray-tracing averages are cited from the published Tom's Hardware GPU Benchmarks Hierarchy; TGP/TBP, connector types, and PSU ratings come from official NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon, and Intel Arc datasheets. Research-based · not lab-tested.
The tiers describe a starting point for your monitor and build. They are editorial use-case groups, not measured architecture rankings. We have not lab-tested these boards, and this table does not predict frame rates.
For 1080p, start by checking the RX 9060 XT’s memory, connections and case fit. For 1440p, compare the RTX 5070’s 12 GB buffer with the two 16 GB options. For 4K, examine your actual games, settings and upscaling support before treating either higher-memory option as a fit. Resolution labels do not guarantee a frame-rate target.
The RTX 5070 family uses NVIDIA Blackwell; the RX 9070 XT uses AMD RDNA 4. Software support matters alongside memory capacity. A wider bus or more VRAM does not establish which card is faster in your workload. Match CUDA or other required features to your applications before comparing boards.
Chip power and partner-board specifications also differ. The table labels reference power figures as such and uses ASUS for the partner’s connectors, dimensions and PSU guidance. The Prime RX 9070 XT uses three 8-pin connections; do not substitute a different RX 9070 model’s cable requirements.
Use the GPU and PSU calculator with your CPU, graphics card and case. Then confirm the PSU manual, cables and board manufacturer’s instructions. The calculation is a planning estimate; it cannot inspect your PSU or verify an installation.
ATX 3.1 support, rated power and connector fit are separate checks. A 16-pin socket does not tell you that an arbitrary cable is compatible. Use the cable approved for the exact power supply and follow the installation guidance. Do not mix modular cables between supplies.
Check the full model code, seller, warranty and included accessories. Each pick offers Amazon and a direct Newegg product page from the existing catalog. Those links do not establish current stock. This guide does not quote product prices.
October 24, 2026: replaced the draft’s unsourced cross-generation FPS ordering with four catalog boards, explicit use-case groups and filters for memory, resolution, connector and PSU recommendation. Original publication date retained.
