The Hardware Pick Editors

Updated October 14, 2026

The Hardware Pick editors is our collective byline for research-based hardware guides, reviews and news. The editorial role is to turn linked documentation and independent published measurements into a useful buying decision, with a clear explanation of the evidence and its limits.

What do the editors do?

Editors identify the reader’s use case, check exact model information, compare sources and explain who a product fits. They write the reasons to buy or skip each option, keep comparisons tied to their stated conditions and identify unresolved compatibility questions. They also review source dates, image credits, store-link disclosures and corrections.

Our full account of that process is How We Research Hardware. How we pick gives the short version.

What does the byline establish?

It identifies editorial responsibility for the page. Our content is research-based, not lab-tested. Published measurements belong to the independent source named in the article; a manufacturer specification remains a manufacturer specification.

The collective byline does not establish that an individual editor operated a device or personally measured its performance. We do not attach invented personal credentials, years of experience or portraits to it. A credited manufacturer photo illustrates a product, rather than an editor’s evaluation of it.

How is editorial independence handled?

Brands cannot pay for inclusion. Affiliate commissions do not determine the picks or their order. Recommendations need an explained use case and a drawback, and a comparison can favor different products for different requirements.

We may earn a commission from purchases made through our links. Read the affiliate disclosure for how those relationships are presented. A store link is a way to check a listing; it does not guarantee price, stock, seller quality or suitability for your setup.

How can you report an error?

Email thehardwarepick@gmail.com with the page link, the statement you believe is incorrect and a source or model detail that helps us check it. Please identify the exact product or configuration when that affects the issue.

We review the reported information against the cited material and relevant documentation. Our corrections policy describes how verified changes are recorded. Sending a report does not itself establish that a claim is wrong; the supporting evidence determines the correction.
