How we chose

Weights, sensors and battery claims from Logitech, Razer and SteelSeries. Shape fit, click latency and verdicts from RTINGS. We don’t run our own lab tests.

What actually matters

Shape beats grams. A 56 g mouse that doesn’t fit your hand loses to a 74 g one that does. Symmetrical shapes like the SUPERLIGHT 2 suit nearly all hands and grips, per RTINGS. Ergonomic shapes like the DeathAdder V4 Pro are comfier for the hands they fit, and wrong for the rest.

Your grip. Palm grip wants a longer, fuller mouse. Claw and fingertip grips do better with a smaller, lighter one. Not sure? Check how you hold the mouse you already own.

Polling rate. 8 kHz sounds big; 1000 Hz is already fine for most players. If you want 8 kHz, your PC and games have to keep up with it.

Battery. Rechargeable mice charge over USB-C. The G305 runs on one AA, rated for 250 hours by Logitech.

Also worth a look. Razer now sells the Viper V4 Pro, the successor to the Viper V3 Pro. RTINGS measured it at 48.9 g. We’ll add it once we’ve checked its specs and listings.
