Should you buy an RTX 5060 now or wait?
If you need a GPU now, consider an RTX 5060 only if the exact model meets your games and system requirements. If your current card still does what you need, keep it while you wait for confirmed information. The RTX 6060 release date rumor gives you no firm launch date to plan around.
What does the rumor actually say?
TechRadar reports that leaker Kepler_L2, posting on NeoGAF, suggested the RTX 6060 could arrive in 2029. That year is an extrapolation, and NVIDIA has not confirmed an RTX 6060 launch date.
TechRadar also attributes to the leaker the possibility that the card could fall below the PS6 in gaming performance. Treat that comparison as speculation. It does not establish how either product will perform in your games.
What remains unknown?
Neither a confirmed release schedule nor verified RTX 6060 performance follows from these claims. A rumored year cannot tell you how long you would actually wait, and the PS6 comparison cannot tell you whether an RTX 5060 meets your needs today.
Our buying advice is to assess the upgrade you can use now. Waiting makes sense when your current setup is adequate; replacing it makes sense when you can identify a problem that the replacement will solve.
What to check before you buy
- Write down the games or applications your current setup struggles with and the settings you want to use. Check independent benchmarks for the exact candidate before buying.
- For a desktop upgrade, confirm the card’s dimensions, power requirements and connections against your case and power supply documentation.
- For a laptop, evaluate the complete system, including its display and upgrade limits. Use the exact model’s documentation when comparing candidates.
- Check the seller’s condition, warranty and return terms before committing to a purchase.
